Playworker

Morley Memorial Primary School · Cambridge · Cambridgeshire

Job description

Playworker

Required September onwards

With afternoon vacancies, we’re looking for new members to join our team of staff to provide a play-based childcare provision for children. Spectrum is a fun and busy club, where the children feel at home to play as they choose in a welcoming and stimulating environment. Applicants should be enthusiastic, patient, conscientious, reliable and aware of their duty of care to the children in the setting. Flexibility and teamwork skills are obviously crucial, as is a sense of enthusiasm and the desire to play. Successful applicants will be expected to adhere to all policies and procedures of the setting and undertake appropriate training to compliment any existing qualifications and experience.

Our provision is open as follows:

  • 7.30-8.45 (Monday - Friday term-time) “Breakfast Club”
  • 3.00-6.00 (Monday - Friday term-time) “After-School Club”
  • 8.00-6.00 (Monday - Friday during school holidays) “Holiday Club”

*There is scope for additional hours at breakfast club, during school lunchtimes (11.45-1.00pm) and casual hours during school holidays. Hours are open to negotiation but letters of application should indicate availability.

Shortlisting will be based upon each applicant’s capacity to demonstrate how they meet the criteria. Applications will be reviewed on receipt. Suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date and we reserve the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made.  Interviews will take place on a rolling basis at the beginning of September

Morley Memorial Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The above post is subject to the receipt of good references and enhanced DBS checks.
