Pre-School Assistant

Kibworth Church of England Primary School

Salary: Grade 5 Pay Point 7-8 (£25,191 - £25,590 per annum, approximate starting salary of £14,562 )

Hours: 25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 7:30am-12:30pm

About the Role

Kibworth Church of England Primary School are seeking to recruit a highly organised, empathetic and enthusiastic Pre-School Assistant to work within our Windmills Pre-School, supporting the Pre-School Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and implementing a multi-cultural play curriculum to stimulate children’s interest in learning.
  • Liaise with parents/carers and other staff to ensure children are welcomed and supported.
  • Ensure the well-being, safety and security of the children including the locking of doors, windows and gates in accordance with safeguarding procedures.
  • Maintain records as directed.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications:

  • Good level of literacy and numeracy - essential
  • NVQ 3 qualification or equivalent - desirable

Experience:

  • Experience of working with children under five in informal or formal settings

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of good practice in under-fives care and education.
  • Knowledge of requirements of the Children Act.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted requirements
  • An understanding of Health & Safety.
  • A knowledge of good security practices.
