The Job:

Eden School seek to appoint a Safeguarding & Attendance Officer to start as soon as possible on a term time only permanent contract. The actual salary for this role is from £25,568 to £29,128 per annum.

What does this job do?

  1. Develop and maintain the school’s safeguarding procedures and practices, with support from the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
  2. This role will also undertake the responsibilities of a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)
  3. To support the school in raising attendance and helping young people to achieve.
  4. To work within the Pupil Support Team in supporting pupils who are in school to achieve their potential.


What are the job requirements?

  1. Experience of working with pupils in an education or social care setting
  2. Excellent knowledge of Safeguarding and Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) to ensure effective procedures
  3. Experience of working with external agencies, such as local authority child protection services and police, including making formal referrals
  4. Ability to relate well to young people and to understand their needs
  5. Ability to advise staff on safeguarding strategies
  6. Understands the need for effective relationships with parents, carers, partners and the community which enhance and support pupils learning

Eden is a small special school for young people aged 8-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), which currently has up to 60 pupils on roll. We pride ourselves in delivering our SHINE values of success, health, inspire, nurture and empower, as we strive to attain the best outcomes possible for our pupils.

All our students access the National Curriculum, studying GCSEs and vocational qualifications. We provide a knowledge-based academic curriculum alongside vocational qualifications and an enrichment programme. Our therapeutic provision provides targeted support for the SEMH needs of our pupils.
