Job description
Main purpose of the role
- Lead the efficient and effective day-to-day delivery of the school's finance, business and operational functions.
- Provide accurate financial information, strong budget monitoring and high-quality operational advice to the CFOO, Head of School and senior leaders.
- Ensure that school-level financial processes, records and controls are accurate, timely, compliant and audit-ready.
- Lead and develop relevant business support teams, promoting high standards of service, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate key areas including finance administration, procurement, HR administration, payroll inputs, contracts, premises operations and business compliance.
- Ensure that business services are aligned with the school's educational priorities and contribute positively to the experience of students, staff and families.
- Translate Trust and school priorities into clear operational plans, systems, routines and service standards.
- Provide visible, calm and solution-focused leadership across school business functions.
- Contribute to leadership meetings and decision-making as required, bringing a clear understanding of resources, risk and operational implications.
- Identify inefficiencies, risks and service gaps, recommending and implementing sustainable improvements.
- Develop a strong culture of customer service, professional accountability and collaboration within business support teams.
- Maintain effective relationships with external providers, contractors, professional advisers and partner organisations.
