School Cleaner

Lavington School · Devizes · Wiltshire

Job description

The working hours for this role are expected to be 20 hours per week, 41 weeks per year. 15:00 - 19:00 Monday to Friday. The start date for this role is as soon as possible.

Join Lavington School as a Cleaner and help maintain a safe, welcoming and high-quality environment for pupils, staff and visitors. Based on site for 20 hours per week (3:00pm to 7:00pm, Monday to Friday), you will play an important role in ensuring school facilities are clean, hygienic and well-presented. Duties include cleaning classrooms and communal areas, mopping and vacuuming floors, emptying bins, and maintaining washroom facilities. You will safely use a range of cleaning equipment and approved cleaning products in line with health and safety procedures. The role also involves replenishing consumable supplies, monitoring stock levels and keeping storage areas organised. We are looking for a reliable and motivated individual with good knowledge of cleaning practices and equipment. Candidates should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a supportive site team. Strong communication skills, a flexible approach and a commitment to high standards are essential. Experience in a cleaning role is desirable, and experience within a school environment would be an advantage. Lavington School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and the successful candidate will be subject to appropriate pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check. As a member of staff within our Trust, you will contribute to a collaborative working environment and play a key role in supporting the learning and development of all pupils.
