Nether Stowe School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and highly effective Second in Maths to join our supportive and ambitious team. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational teacher to take on a key leadership role within our Maths department, supporting the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across the curriculum. The successful candidate will play an important role in raising achievement, developing the quality of teaching and learning, and inspiring students to develop a strong understanding and enthusiasm for Maths.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the strategic direction and day-to-day leadership of the Maths department
- Drive high standards of teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Lead on curriculum development, assessment, and intervention strategies
- Monitor and support student progress, ensuring all learners achieve their full potential
- Contribute to staff development through coaching and sharing best practice
- Inspire a love of mathematics across the school community
What you'll need to succeed
- Be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a strong track record of student achievement
- Have the ability to motivate, challenge, and support both students and colleagues
- Demonstrate leadership potential and a commitment to continuous improvement
- Be passionate about mathematics and dedicated to raising standards
- Have excellent organisational and communication skills
This role would suit an experienced teacher looking to develop their leadership skills or an existing middle leader seeking a new challenge.
