Job description

  • Be a qualified SENCO with expert knowledge of SEND legislation and the Code of Practice.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for SEND and inclusion across the school.
  • Work directly with pupils, including those with complex needs within our SEND provision.
  • Lead and manage a team of Learning Support Assistants, overseeing effective deployment and training.
  • Model and promote outstanding inclusive teaching practice for all staff.
  • Manage SEND assessments, EHCP processes, and partnerships with external agencies (including SEND Ops).
  • Lead and develop our Thrive programme (willingness to undertake Thrive Practitioner training is essential).
  • Contribute actively to school improvement, safeguarding, and the Senior Management Team.
  • Demonstrate a collaborative, resilient leadership style with high aspirations for both pupils and themselves.
