- Has experience of leading SEND provision and a strong understanding of the statutory responsibilities of the SENDCo role in line with the SEND Code of Practice
- Can lead, develop and evaluate high-quality SEND systems, ensuring provision is effective, evidence-informed and has a measurable impact on pupil outcomes
- Has the expertise to support staff in delivering adaptive teaching and inclusive classroom practice through high-quality professional development and coaching
- Understands the importance of early identification, assessment and targeted intervention to ensure pupils’ needs are met effectively
- Will work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, families and external agencies to secure the best outcomes for children
- Has a strong understanding of safeguarding, vulnerable learners and the wider pastoral needs of pupils
- Can use data, evidence and professional judgement to monitor progress, evaluate provision and drive continuous improvement
- Builds positive relationships and promotes a culture of belonging, confidence and aspiration for pupils with SEND
- Will contribute strategically to whole-school improvement as a member of the wider leadership team
This post would suit:
