Contract: Permanent, full time
Salary: £31,537 - £35,412 (depending on experience)
Annual leave: 28 days per year
St. George’s Church of England Primary School is seeking a skilled, reliable and proactive Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day management, safety and maintenance of the school site.
This is a key operational role, working closely with the Headteacher and wider staff team to ensure the school environment is safe, well maintained and fit for learning at all times. The successful candidate will also provide line management for the cleaning team and coordinate contractors and planned maintenance works.
Key responsibilitiesThe Site Manager will:

Oversee the site management of the school, ensuring buildings and grounds are safe, secure and well maintained

Plan, carry out and supervise routine and preventative maintenance, repairs and improvement works

Coordinate contractors, capital works and compliance checks in line with agreed plans

Ensure all statutory health and safety requirements are met, including fire safety, water testing and risk assessments

Manage site security, including alarms, CCTV, access arrangements and emergency response

Line manage and supervise the cleaning team, ensuring high standards are consistently met

Maintain accurate records, budgets and compliance documentation

Support community use of the site, ensuring the school is ready for learning at all times
This role requires flexibility, including occasional work outside normal hours in response to site or service needs.

Experience of site or premises management, ideally within a school or similar setting

Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance and statutory compliance

Experience of supervising staff and managing contractors

Practical skills in areas such as general building maintenance, decorating or repairs

A strong understanding of health and safety requirements

Excellent organisational and communication skills

A proactive, resilient and solution-focused approach

A willingness to work within and support the Christian ethos of the Trust
