Highdown School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Sixth Form Welfare Lead, to join our vibrant Sixth Form Team. This role would be suited to candidates with a strong administrative background and also experience in a pastoral role within schools. If you have a passion for working with young people, with a focus on students’ social and emotional development and are looking to work within a supportive and professional team, we would love to hear from you!
Your opportunity:
- To provide pastoral support for all Sixth Form students and promote student welfare, including monitoring attendance.
- To remove any barriers to learning to support the student's achievements and oversee the Year 12 mentoring scheme.
- To be the Designated Safeguarding Officer for the Sixth Form Safeguarding issues.
- To administer all aspects of the 16-19 Bursary Programme
- To promote a professional and friendly point of call to all Sixth Form Students, Parents and Carers, external agencies and visitors to our school.

The Details:
Start date: ASAP
Contract type: Permanent
Pay Scale: GLF Specialist 14 £31,321 FTE (actual £26,945)
Working hours : 36 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time)
Working pattern: 8.15am - 4pm Mon - Thurs and 8.15 - 3.45pm on Friday
Closing date: 24th September 2026 at 9.30 am
