Special Support Assistant

We are offering the opportunity to join our friendly and dedicated team in our warm and welcoming school as a Special Support Assistant for a period of maternity cover.

Experience of working with children of a similar need is always preferable, but not essential, and full training will always be given. We offer excellent support to our staff, ensuring that all get the additional support and training they need and opportunities to build upon their experience. As one of our Special Support Assistants, you will be working with a supportive and experienced team who work collaboratively with professionals from a wide range of backgrounds to meet the physical, medical, sensory and emotional needs of our children.

Edward Worlledge Ormiston Academy is a community school for children in the 4-11 age range. We are immensely proud of our happy and nurturing ethos, where each child is valued and supported as an individual. We are looking for candidates who:

• Have experience of working in a primary setting
• Can work proactively and use initiative, able to respond to the children’s individual needs
• Have good behaviour management skills
• Are calm and patient
• Believe that every child can succeed
