Job description

Woodnewton is proud to be part of the Inspiring Futures through Learning (IFtL) family of schools who inspire all of our futures through learning together.  At IFtL we are never alone, we know we are stronger together - one united family striving for excellence for all, in everything we do.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people? We are currently looking for a person who can be an advocate for a child with complex medical needs. The role will involve building a relationship with the pupil, supporting not only her intimate care needs but also emotional resilience. Ideally the person appointed would have a qualification/background of working in health and social care.

In this rewarding role, you will support pupils with personal care, wellbeing and inclusion, helping them to access learning and participate fully in school life. You will work closely with teachers, families and external professionals to ensure pupils receive the highest standard of care and support.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children with personal care, medical or additional needs.
  • Demonstrates empathy, sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
  • Remains calm and supportive in challenging situations.
  • Is committed to promoting pupil independence, wellbeing and inclusion.

Please see the job description for further details.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team and play a vital role in helping pupils thrive both academically and personally.

We can offer:

As part of the Inspiring Futures through Learning, successful candidates have access to enhanced family leave, Employee Assistance program, bespoke CPD and auto enrolment in LGPS/Teacher pension. All IFtL employees have access to a benefits platform which offers discount on gym membership, cinema tickets, cycle to work scheme and much more.

Our children and young people come from a wide range of backgrounds, and so do our colleagues. We aim to reflect and celebrate diversity in our workplace in order to create an inclusive culture that adds real value to our vision of inspiring the futures of us all through learning together.

Inspiring Futures through Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All employees are expected to share this commitment, to follow IFtL’s safeguarding policies and procedures, and to behave appropriately towards children at all times, both in work and in their personal lives.
