Job description
About this Role
An excellent teacher can make a lasting difference. We are willing to be flexible to find the right person.
Spetisbury CE Primary School is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and skilled class teacher to join our welcoming school community. We welcome applications from experienced teachers and early career teachers who share our commitment to helping every child grow and flourish.
The vacancy arises from a teacher leaving a three-day-a-week role. However, we have flexibility in how we organise our staffing and would welcome conversations with candidates seeking different working patterns.
We would consider:
- Part-time appointments of two, three or four days a week.
- Four- or five-day appointments for an early career teacher, with appropriate induction support and release time.
The final working pattern will depend on the overall staffing arrangement, the experience of the successful candidate or candidates, and the school’s needs and available resources.
Please indicate your preferred working pattern in your application. If you are excited by the opportunity but unsure whether your availability would fit, please contact us before ruling yourself out—we would be happy to explore the possibilities.
At Spetisbury, our vision of “Growing and maturing in our learning journey” shapes our ambition for children and adults alike. We are looking for someone who builds warm relationships, has high expectations and brings thoughtful, engaging teaching to the classroom.
Visits to the school are warmly encouraged. Please contact the school office on 01258 452107 to arrange a visit or an informal conversation about the role.
We want our staff to thrive so we offer an extensive range of wellness services and professional learning opportunities to support growth and development. Please visit our website for further details: Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust - Wellness
We value the diversity of our workforce and welcome applications from all. If you are interested in this position and would like to have a more detailed conversation before making the decision to apply for the post, please give us a call and we will be happy to help you with as much detail as possible to support this process.
When you have enough information to make your decision to apply, please complete all sections of the application form. CVs will not be accepted.
All applicants will be notified of the shortlisting decisions by email. References for shortlisted candidates will be requested before interviews.
This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
All applicants will be subject to a number of checks including the Disclosure and Barring Service check before appointment is confirmed.
Applications are handled on Teaching Vacancies (GOV.UK).
