Teacher/Flexible Cover Teacher

ROLE PURPOSE

Provide high-quality teaching and learning across the school, undertaking class teaching and cover as required —short term and longer term — across different year groups according to need.

• Teach, assess, mark and adapt learning
• Maintain behaviour, wellbeing and safeguarding
• Collaborate across year groups and phases
• Communicate effectively when taking over and handing back classes
• Contribute to events, enrichment and the school ethos
• Attend meetings, develop practice and uphold professional standards

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Essential

• Experience with children in an educational setting and leading
• whole-class learning
• Good understanding of primary education; strong literacy and
• numeracy
• QTS or appropriate experience for an unqualified appointment
• Confident across year groups; strong behaviour management and
• communication
• Able to plan, assess, adapt, collaborate and exercise professional
• judgement
• Positive, resilient, reflective and committed to safeguarding

Desirable

• Teaching across more than one year group
• Longer-term class cover experience
• HLTA, Cover Supervisor or Unqualified Teacher experience
• Knowledge of the primary curriculum
• Support for children with additional needs
• Relevant professional development
• Commitment to progressing towards QTS, where appropriate
