M1 - UPS3 (ECRequired from September 2026
TEACHER OF BUSINESS STUDIES
Full Time
ECTs are encouraged to apply).
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, committed, and talented teacher of Business Studies to work within our successful Business Studies, Computing, and IT Faculty. The successful candidate will be required to teach KS4 Business courses and experience of teaching the BTEC Tech Award in Enterprise would be desirable. The ability to teach Computing and IT in line with National Curriculum Key Stage 3 requirements would also be required.
The Business and IT Faculty consists of 4 members of staff, several of whom teach BTEC Enterprise, Computer Science and Digital IT. There is a Head of Business Studies and a Head of Faculty who lead the faculty. The faculty is a thriving and successful subject at Bridgewater High School as evidenced by our results and recruitment numbers. At Key Stage 3 we cover the computing national curriculum which involves students studying three sequenced units incorporating IT, Computer Science, and the Impact of Technology. These units develop the skills and knowledge that students need to underpin their learning at KS4. Students receive a broad and balanced curriculum covering the fundamentals of how computer science, IT and business function in real world situations. At lower site there are two designated IT suites. Students receive 2 lessons per fortnight. At Key Stage 4 there are currently 20 KS4 groups across the three subject areas taught. 14 of those groups are studying BTEC Enterprise.
We have 5 IT suites that are used to deliver our courses at KS4. Business students follow the BTEC Tech Award Enterprise specification. Our intention is to develop our external links that will allow students to develop their experiences of the business environment.
We are looking to appoint a teacher who will help to maintain the high standards within the faculty, be enthusiastic and creative in their lesson delivery and who will also assist in contributing to extra-curricular provision.
Applications are handled on Teaching Vacancies (GOV.UK).
