The Bolsover School have a fantastic opportunity for a Teacher of English to join their dedicated team.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Qualified teacher status
  • Degree or equivalent
  • Successful teaching experience of both English Language and Literature across 11-16 age and full ability range
  • Knowledge of:
    • How using data can improve student achievement
    • A variety of English curricular and recent changes to the curriculum
    • Effective use of classroom support for students with additional needs
  • Knowledge of current educational issues
  • Evidence of participation in recent professional development particularly related to English
  • Passion to make a difference to pupils’ learning in English
  • Ability to be a team member
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good ICT skills
  • Energy, drive and dynamism
  • Ability to motivate and challenge
  • Ability to be self-critical and accept criticism positively
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent behaviour management techniques and the ability to maintain high standards of discipline
