Are you a passionate and inspiring History teacher looking to make a real difference? Hamstead Hall Academy, part of the Hamstead Hall Academy Trust, is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of History to join our successful team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract.

This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent classroom practitioner to teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to contribute to Key Stage 5 being desirable. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and ambitious early career teachers who are committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning.

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver engaging, challenging and inclusive History lessons that inspire a love of learning.
  • Plan and teach a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum that enables all students to achieve their potential.
  • Monitor, assess and provide high-quality feedback to support excellent student progress.
  • Create a positive, purposeful and well-managed learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the continued success of the Humanities department.
  • Support the wider life of the Academy through attendance at events, parents' evenings and enrichment opportunities.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status and is qualified to teach in the UK.
  • Has a degree in the subject area or a related discipline.
  • Has successful teaching experience in a secondary school environment.
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom practice and high expectations of students.
  • Has strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • Is committed to safeguarding, inclusion and raising standards for all learners.
  • Can teach History to Key Stage 4; experience or knowledge of Key Stage 5 is desirable.
