We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Maths to join our thriving team at Cottenham Village College. Key responsibilities

As a Teacher of Maths, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons that engage, challenge and inspire learners
  • Plan and teach a well-structured curriculum that meets the needs of all pupils
  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress in line with academy expectations
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes excellent behaviour for learning
  • Provide timely and effective feedback to support pupil progress
  • Support pupils of all abilities, including those with SEND and those at risk of underachievement
  • Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development and continuous improvement
  • Participate in enrichment opportunities and wider school life
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and raise standards
  • Fulfil pastoral responsibilities as a form tutor, supporting pupils’ personal development

These responsibilities align with the expectation to provide outstanding learning experiences, promote high standards of behaviour, and support pupil progress across a range of needs.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
  • Has the ability to plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons
  • Demonstrates a commitment to raising achievement for all pupils
  • Has strong knowledge of the curriculum and assessment practices
  • Can create a stimulating learning environment that supports progress
  • Is reflective and committed to their own professional development
  • Works effectively as part of a team and contributes positively to the wider school
  • Has high expectations of behaviour and achievement
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong curriculum knowledge, effective teaching and assessment skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration.
