Job description

We are looking for a teacher who:

• Has comprehensive knowledge and experience in teaching the maths curriculum

• Has enthusiasm and commitment

• Is able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills

• Is able to communicate using British Sign Language

• Would like to teach Deaf learners

• Is able to contribute positively to the ethos of the schoolAre you committed to helping young people in a special needs environment to stay healthy, safe and

Braidwood is a very successful secondary school for Deaf young people aged 11-19 in purpose built

accommodation. Our young people come from across the Midland region and represent the full academic

spectrum, from unit awards up to GCSE and Level 3 BSL. Some of our students have additional needs

including communication and interaction; cognition and learning; social, emotional and mental health

difficulties; and sensory and/or physical needs. All our pupils are taught to achieve their best from their

starting points and all success is celebrated. We pursue a Total Communication approach which means we

fit our methods of communication to the needs of each learner.

All our pupils primary need is sensory, we promote positive deaf identity and achievement for all.
