Job description

King’s Academy Binfield is seeking to appoint a passionate, dynamic and innovative Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages to join our ambitious academy community.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our thriving MFL department within a forward-thinking all-through school, where linguistic curiosity, academic excellence and a love of learning are at the heart of what we do. You will play a key role in delivering an engaging, knowledge-rich curriculum in French and Spanish that inspires students to achieve exceptional progress and develop the confidence and cultural understanding needed to succeed in an increasingly global society.

At King’s Academy Binfield, Modern Foreign Languages play a vital role in our curriculum and our wider vision of providing opportunity and success on a global stage. We believe that learning languages broadens horizons, develops communication skills and fosters a deeper appreciation of different cultures. Through high-quality teaching and ambitious curriculum design, we enable students to become confident linguists who can apply their knowledge with fluency, accuracy and independence.

Our MFL provision is characterised by:

A strong commitment to academic success: A focus on clear progress points and high-attaining outcomes for all students.

Collaborative teamwork: A supportive environment where you will work closely with colleagues to share best practice and enhance the student experience.

A reflective approach to pedagogy: Continual improvement in teaching and learning with a focus on student growth and language acquisition.

Curriculum excellence: A clear understanding of the importance of ambitious curriculum design and high-quality delivery across French and Spanish.

A genuine commitment to professional trust: Supporting leaders to flourish through wellbeing and developmental support.

As part of our all-through academy, you will benefit from working within a unique educational environment spanning Nursery to Post-16, offering opportunities to understand and shape the full student journey. Our growing Sixth Form and expanding provision create exciting possibilities for developing Key Stage 5 language pathways and long-term career development.

We are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner who can inspire and motivate students to achieve their very best. The successful candidate will:

  • Have a passion for Modern Foreign Languages and a commitment to high-quality classroom practice that enables student progress.
  • Be able to teach Spanish and/or French, with the ability to contribute to curriculum development across the department.
  • Demonstrate the ability to engage and challenge all learners, ensuring every student reaches their full potential.
  • Thrive as a classroom practitioner and contribute meaningfully to the wider life and cultural capital of the academy through the promotion of languages and international understanding.
  • Be reflective and ambitious, taking ownership of their students' success and their own professional growth.
  • Have a clear vision for increasing student engagement, participation and achievement in Modern Foreign Languages.

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who embody our core values of Honesty, Faith and Courage - approaching their work with integrity, optimism and a determination to make a meaningful difference.
