About Us

Lealands High School is a vibrant, diverse, and rapidly growing 11-16 academy situated in the heart of Luton. We pride ourselves on our positive learning environment, high expectations, and a community where both students and staff are supported to thrive.

Our Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department is a collaborative, energetic team dedicated to bringing languages to life. We want our students to not just pass exams, but to develop a genuine passion for international cultures and global communication.

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and dedicated Teacher of Spanish to join our successful MFL department. The ability to teach French to Key Stage 3 (and potentially Key Stage 4) would be a distinct advantage. Whether you are an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking for a supportive school to start your career, or an experienced practitioner seeking a new challenge, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach high-quality Spanish lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE).

  • Deliver engaging French lessons at Key Stage 3 to help foster a dual-language foundation.

  • Inspire and motivate students of all abilities with interactive, culturally rich lessons.

  • Track student progress and implement targeted interventions to ensure high achievement.

What We Are Looking For:
  • A qualified teacher (QTS) with a degree in Spanish or a related subject.

  • The ability to teach French as a second language is highly desirable.

  • A passion for teaching languages and a strong understanding of the current curriculum.

  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to build strong rapport with young people.

  • A team player who is eager to contribute to the wider school community.

What We Offer:
  • A highly supportive and tailored induction programme for ECTs.

  • Continuous Professional Development (CPD) opportunities to progress your career.

  • Motivated students who are keen to learn.

  • A modern, well-resourced school building with excellent facilities.

  • Staff wellbeing initiatives and a friendly, welcoming common room.

How to Apply

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged. To arrange a visit or for more information, please contact our HR team at recruitment@lealands.luton.sch.uk.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure Barring Service.
