Job description
We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Claycots School. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with Class Teachers to support pupils' learning, development and wellbeing, helping every child to achieve their full potential. You will play an important part in creating a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment where children feel safe, valued and inspired to succeed.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide classroom support, work with individual pupils and small groups, assist with planning and learning activities, and contribute to the effective management of the classroom. The role includes supporting pupils with a range of needs, including those with SEND, promoting independence, confidence and excellent learning behaviours. You will build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues, while demonstrating our core values of Respect, Integrity, Curiosity and Kindness.
This position would suit someone who is passionate about education, committed to making a difference in children's lives and eager to develop professionally. Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant or looking to build a long-term career in education, Claycots School offers exceptional opportunities for growth and progression. Many colleagues have progressed from Teaching Assistant roles into teacher training and qualified teaching positions through our commitment to developing talent from within.
We are proud to invest heavily in staff development, providing high-quality CPD, ongoing training and opportunities to broaden your skills and expertise throughout your career. As a school recognised with Gold Investors in People status, we believe that developing great staff leads to the very best outcomes for our pupils.
In addition to a supportive and collaborative working environment, we offer a comprehensive wellbeing package, including access to YuLife, an innovative wellbeing and life insurance platform that rewards healthy habits and supports physical, mental and financial wellbeing. Staff also benefit from an Employee Assistance Programme, Mental Health First Aiders, discounted lunches, modern facilities, refurbished staffrooms and free on-site parking.
If you are resilient, caring, enthusiastic and share our belief that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Applications are handled on Teaching Vacancies (GOV.UK).
