Burton Joyce Primary School is looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our happy and supportive team.
The role will involve supporting 1:1 pupils both in and outside the classroom. You would be working closely with class teachers and our SEND Coordinator to support learning for the individual pupil and with small group interventions in reading and numeracy. Although experience in desirable, the job could also suit a candidate willing to learn.
The post is initially for 1 year but may be extended and will be for 4 mornings per week The successful candidate will have the benefit of joining an established, enthusiastic and highly skilled staff team. We have high expectations for all our children and work alongside outside professionals to support the provision for our SEND pupils.
We are looking for candidates who:
· Enjoy working 1:1 with pupils and put the child’s wellbeing at the heart of all they do
· Experience of working with children who have SEND is an advantage
· Have high aspirations for the achievement of our children
· Show a positive, enthusiastic and flexible attitude
· Show initiative and resilience
· Work with the teacher to make adaptations within lessons for the 1:1 pupil (training given)
· Demonstrate a good standard of written and spoken English
