Are you passionate about helping young people learn and grow? We're looking for a Teaching Assistant to join Lift Kingswood, someone who wants to make a real difference in students' lives every day.

About the role

Lift Kingswood's Teaching Assistants are vital members of the team. You'll work side by side with teachers to help every student access learning, develop independence and grow in confidence. Your work will make a genuine difference supporting young people to achieve their potential and flourish in all aspects of school life.

You'll get to know your students' individual needs, helping them navigate lesson content and develop skills to learn independently. You'll deliver small-group or one-to-one support, promote positive behaviours and help create a safe, stimulating learning environment. You'll work with teachers, SENDCO, pastoral staff and families to ensure every student receives the support they need to succeed.

Key responsibilities

  • Support students' learning needs, including SEND, so they can access lessons and achieve their goals
  • Help students build independent learning skills and manage their own progress
  • Work with teachers to plan, assess and provide high-quality lessons
  • Guide individual students or small groups through targeted learning activities
  • Build positive relationships and support behaviour, wellbeing and personal care

What we're looking for

  • Experience of working with young people
  • Level 2 functional skills Maths and English or GCSE grade C/ 4 and above
  • Passion and enthusiasm for working with young people
  • Trained in/ or willing to complete Teaching Assistant training (level 3)
  • Organised, reliable and professional in all aspects of work
  • Reflective, open to feedback and committed to ongoing learning and development
  • UK right to work - this vacancy is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

We value the skills and dedication of our teaching assistants. To support the best outcomes for our students, we require a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent). If you don't yet hold this qualification, don't worry! We'll invest in your development by enrolling you in our Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Programme, helping you gain the behaviours, skills and experience you need to thrive in the role.
