Greenacre School is one of the UK’s largest special schools, educating over 300 children and young people aged 3 to 19 with severe and complex learning disabilities. THE ROLE

As a Grade 2 Teaching Assistant (TA2) at our school in Barnsley, you will offer more than classroom support. You will make connections, develop relationships and lead our pupils on the path to a bright future. This will include working under the guidance of a teacher to support the academic and personal development of children throughout the school day. This includes:

  • Getting the classroom ready for lessons

  • Supporting children in class with reading, visual learning and messy play

  • Helping those who need extra support - 1:1 and group work

  • Completing pupils record plans

  • Personal care

THE CANDIDATE

  • GCSE Math's and English or equivalent

  • Experience or interest in working with children/ young people with SEN / SEND needs

  • Ability to relate to children and younger people to build positive relationships

SALARY/ HOURS Salary for a Grade 2 Teaching Assistant is £19,825 (starting salary) - £20,136 actual annual salary (FTE £25,613.83) working 33 hours per week Mon-Fri term time only + 5 inset days + amazing benefits working for our Wellspring trust.

This is a full time Mon-Fri (Term time only) position. The working hours are 8.50am to 3.55pm Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 8.50am to 4.10pm Wednesday and 8.50am to 3.45pm Friday.
