Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant - Grade 6 Numeracy

Faringdon Community College · Faringdon · Oxfordshire

Job description

Working under the guidance of the SENCo and teaching staff, you will support the learning, achievement and wellbeing of students through a range of classroom-based and targeted intervention activities. The role involves working with individual students and small groups, both in and out of the classroom, to help them access the curriculum, develop independence and make progress in their learning, particularly in numeracy.

You will contribute to the planning and delivery of learning activities, monitor and record student progress, provide feedback to teachers and help create an inclusive learning environment where all students can succeed. The successful candidate will be able to build positive relationships with young people, promote high expectations and support students with a range of learning needs.

We are looking for someone who is motivated, organised and adaptable, with excellent communication skills and a calm, positive approach. You will be committed to supporting students' academic and personal development and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Experience of working with young people and strong numeracy skills are essential.
