33.75 hours a week (8.15 am - 3.30 pm) Term Time Only
This is a temporary vacancy, initially for 1 year, linked to pupil funding
We are looking to appoint an experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic part-time Teaching Assistant to work within our school. The position will be class-based and the successful candidate would be expected to show a positive impact on pupil progress within a classroom setting as well as working effectively as part of a team. The position is for 33.75 hours per week, to include lunchtime OPAL play supervision with half an hour unpaid lunch break. The position will include:
- Supporting individuals and groups in whole class activities, helping every individual to achieve linked to the learning intention.
- Leading intervention groups in order to pre-teach in advance of lessons, address misconception or plug gaps in learning
- Leading phonics sessions using Read Write Inc.
- Providing some whole class cover for the class teacher, as required.
- Providing effective feedback to children and teachers including appropriate marking and record keeping to support learning process
- Working in liaison with teachers to support the emotional, social and behavioural needs of children
- Preparation of learning resources in liaison with teachers
- Assisting in the creation of effective displays
- Participating in appropriate training in order to further your own professional development especially in relation to behaviour response, nurture and emotional health and well-being
All candidates should have a high standard of spoken and written English and mathematics. They should be good and effective communicators with children and adults, friendly and approachable, flexible and adaptable, able to work on their own initiative and with good time management skills.
Preferably candidates will have some experience and relevant qualifications/training relating to supporting learning in school e.g. NVQ level 2 or 3 in Child Care and Education/Supporting Teaching and Learning or previous experience within an educational setting.
