We have an exciting and rare opportunity to join our happy, thriving and motivated School. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, imaginative and skilled Teaching Assistant to join us at Thorndown Primary School, which is a spacious and engaging 3 form entry school on the north side of St Ives.
Responsibilities include:-
Working 1:1 with a child helping deliver learning interventions and move the pupil forward.
Working to meet the needs of small groups.
Support for the teacher, maintaining class records; promote pupils’ good behaviour and independent learning strategies; create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment
Provide targeted support to enhance the learning and improve attainment of pupils
Our ideal candidate would have:
Experience of working as a Teaching Assistant previously, especially as a 1:1 TA
- A passion for teaching and learning and a commitment to working as part of a team to provide a caring and positive learning environment
Initiative and the ability to build constructive relationships
Good literacy and numeracy skills
Flexibility, a positive attitude and a good sense of humour.
