Job description
Urchfont Church of England Primary School is seeking to appoint a positive and energetic Teaching Assistant to join their team. As a member of staff within our Trust, you will contribute to a collaborative working environment and play a key role in supporting the learning and development of all pupils.
In this role, you will support the class teacher in delivering the National Curriculum and ensuring all pupils can access learning effectively. You will work closely with teaching staff to adapt and clarify lesson content, helping pupils to understand instructions and engage with activities. There will be the opportunity to provide targeted support in key areas such as reading, writing, and communication, encouraging pupils to stay focused and complete their work. Promoting inclusion and positive behaviour, supporting pupils’ social and emotional development, while fostering independence and self-esteem will be crucial in this role. You will contribute to monitoring progress, maintaining records, and implementing individual support plans, including those for pupils with additional needs. Communicating effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals, and helping to maintain a safe, organised, and supportive learning environment, is key. You will also assist with personal care where required, support classroom resources, and uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and professional standards at all times.
