E-ACT Venturers’ Academy | Where everything’s possible

We are proud to lead a school where every child is known, valued, and supported to thrive. Venturers Academy is a specialist academy for students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), dedicated to providing an exceptional, nurturing environment where every learner can flourish.

Our approach is built on high aspirations, personalised support, and an unwavering belief in our students’ potential. We celebrate individuality, build confidence, and empower young people to achieve meaningful success, academically, socially, and emotionally.

Venturers Academy is based across three sites: our Secondary site at Hareclive Road, and two Primary sites at Withywood Road and St Anne’s Park. Each site is a place of opportunity, collaboration, and growth.

Whether you are an experienced educator or just beginning your journey in education, we offer a supportive, inclusive environment where your talents will be nurtured, your professional development encouraged, and your contributions truly valued.

At Venturers Academy, we do more than educate, we inspire, support, and enable every child, and every colleague, to reach their full potential.

Venturers’ Academy is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Thrive Teaching Assistant to support the emotional wellbeing and development of our pupils. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with children and young people who require additional social and emotional support, helping them to build resilience, confidence, and positive relationships. As part of a nurturing and specialist environment, you will play a key role in delivering Thrive-based interventions that enable every pupil to feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver Thrive-informed interventions to support pupils’ social and emotional development.
  • Work closely with identified pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to build resilience, self-esteem, and emotional regulation skills.
  • Create a safe, nurturing environment where pupils feel supported, valued, and ready to learn.
  • Assess and monitor pupils’ emotional development using Thrive approaches, under the guidance of the Thrive Practitioner/lead.
  • Support the implementation of individual support plans and contribute to reviewing pupil progress.

Pay range:

  • NJC 8 - 13 - £23,592.34 - £25,562.47
  • FTE - £26,824.00 - £29,064.00
  • 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
  • Permanent

Qualifications and Skills:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics, at Grade C/4 or above.
  • Thrive Practitioner training or experience (desirable), or a willingness to undertake Thrive training.
  • Strong understanding of social and emotional development and the ability to support pupils with varying wellbeing needs.
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach, with the ability to build trusted relationships with pupils.
  • Ability to support emotional regulation, behaviour, and positive engagement in learning.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
