Lakenham Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated, and caring individual to join our thriving Before and After School Care as the Wrap Around Care Leader.
Our well-established and popular provision offers high-quality childcare for children attending the school, operating 7:30am–9:00am (Before School Care) and 3:30pm–6:00pm (After School Care). We are proud of our commitment to creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where children can relax, learn, and have fun.
About the Role
As Wrap Around Care lead, you will lead a dedicated team to deliver outstanding childcare. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the provision, maintaining high standards of care, and providing a stimulating and enjoyable experience for all children.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a warm, caring nature and a genuine passion for working with children
- Is flexible, organised, and proactive
- Can build strong relationships with children, staff, parents, and school leadership
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and a good sense of humour
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and organise engaging activities suitable for a wide range of ages
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all children
- Maintain accurate records and manage bookings via the school’s online system
- Lead and support staff, including organising and delivering team meetings
- Contribute to staff development and performance improvement
- Liaise effectively with parents, school staff, and the Senior Leadership Team
- Monitor staffing levels and ensure appropriate supervision at all times
- Support and develop high-quality provision and quality assurance standards
Essential Criteria
- Excellent organisational and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Like children and have a good sense of humour and are patient
- Experience working collaboratively with staff, parents, and children
- Experience of working with children and understand what types of games and activities they like
Desirable Criteria
- Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or equivalent)
- Level 3 qualification in Play (or equivalent)
- Good knowledge of safeguarding procedures and policies
- Confidence in leading a team and supporting staff development
- Ability to use initiative to enhance learning environments and activities
- Experience in preparing reports and attending management meetings
- Have a understanding of food safety regulations
