Job description
Wrap Around Care Supervisor
Term time only | 16.25 hours per week | Friendly school setting
Kennington Church of England Academy is looking for a warm, reliable, and enthusiastic Wrap Around Care Supervisor to lead our after‑school club.
This is a hands‑on role where you’ll work directly with children while also guiding a small team to deliver a safe, happy, and well‑organised provision. You don’t need to be a “manager” — we’re looking for someone who enjoys supporting others and taking pride in a well‑run club.
Working pattern:
16.25 hours per week
Monday-Friday, 2:45pm-6pm
Term‑time only plus one additional week (39 weeks)
Pay: £26373 FTE (£10051 Actual salary)
What the role involves
- Leading the day‑to‑day organisation of the wrap‑around care session
- Creating a welcoming, calm, and fun environment for children aged 7-11
- Planning simple, engaging activities and games
- Supporting and supervising other club staff during sessions
- Ensuring children’s safety and wellbeing at all times
- Building positive relationships with parents, carers, and school staff
- Preparing and serving healthy snacks
- Keeping basic records in line with school policies
Full safeguarding training and ongoing support will be provided.
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Have experience working with children (school, childcare, clubs, or similar)
- Feel confident taking responsibility for a small group
- Are friendly, patient, and organised
- Enjoy working as part of a close‑knit team
- Want a role that fits around family or other commitments
Previous supervisory experience is welcome but not essential.
We warmly encourage visits to the school. To arrange a tour or an informal conversation, please contact the school office.
Kennington Church of England Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff are expected to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to follow the relevant safeguarding procedures, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) guidance, and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
We encourage early applications and reserve the right to close this vacancy early if a suitable candidate is found.
Applications are handled on Teaching Vacancies (GOV.UK).
