We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and organised Breakfast and After School Club Leader to join our team at Sparhawk Infant School for 4-7 year olds. This is a key role providing high-quality wraparound care for our pupils, ensuring they start and end each school day in a safe, fun, and supportive environment. Hours of work, 7.15 – 8.30am and 2.55 – 5.40pm Monday to Friday (job share possible).

You will plan and lead engaging activities, supervise pupils, manage snacks/meals, and ensure the club runs smoothly and safely. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with children, have a positive and proactive attitude, and be confident leading a small team.

The successful candidate will: 

  • Lead the daily running of the Breakfast and After School Club to ensure a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment. 
  • Plan, organise, and deliver a range of activities, including creative, physical, and educational play. 
  • Prepare and serve healthy snacks/meals in line with food hygiene and allergy requirements. 
  • Ensure effective supervision of pupils at all times, promoting positive behaviour and safeguarding their wellbeing. 
  • Maintain accurate registers, records, and incident logs. 
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and school staff. 
  • Manage resources, equipment, and the club environment. 
  • Follow all school policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, first aid, and behaviour procedures. 
  • Lead and support other club staff as required.
  • Hold, or be working towards, an NVQ level 2 in childcare or equivalent or have relevant experience. 
  • Be willing to undertake additional training for example in Food and Hygiene, First Aid and Safeguarding
