Start date: September 2026
Salary: DSAT1
Reports to: Headteacher

We are looking to appoint a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Wraparound Club Assistant to support the running of our school breakfast club.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and can help provide a safe, welcoming and positive start to the school day. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting pupils before school, helping them feel settled, cared for and ready for learning.

As part of our commitment to supporting staff, staff children attending a DSAT Bay Hub school are able to access wraparound care free of charge, subject to availability and the needs of the provision.

About the role

As a Wraparound Club Assistant, you will help with the day-to-day running of our breakfast club provision. You will support pupils in a safe, secure and stimulating environment, encouraging them to take part in meaningful and enjoyable activities.

The role will include supervising children, preparing breakfasts, supporting play-based activities, helping with routines and record keeping, and building positive relationships with pupils, parents and carers.

Main responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

Support the safe provision and appropriate supervision of breakfast club care.

Interact positively with children and encourage them to engage in constructive activities.

Help plan, prepare and deliver suitable play-based activities.

Contribute to a warm, caring and inclusive environment for all pupils.

Support daily administration and record keeping.

Supervise groups of children during activities, ensuring correct ratios are maintained.

Establish positive and professional relationships with parents and carers.

Administer minor first aid, where trained, and support procedures for children who are unwell.

Follow health and safety procedures, including recording accidents appropriately and informing parents where needed.

Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people at all times.

Take care of your own health and safety and that of others.

We are looking for someone who:

Enjoys working with children.

Is warm, patient and approachable.

Can help create a calm and positive start to the school day.

Is reliable, punctual and well-organised.

Can work well as part of a team.

Understands the importance of safeguarding and confidentiality.

Is willing to follow school policies and procedures.

Previous experience of working with children would be an advantage, but the right attitude, care and reliability are equally important.
