Job AdvertNethermains Primary School is a non-denominational primary school located in Denny, which is approximately 6 miles from Falkirk. The school provides education from ELC to primary 7 and is part of the Denny cluster of schools. The school has very strong links with all the cluster schools and Denny High School. We are fortunate to have two Enhanced Provision classes within our school.

The Principal Teacher is a core member of our school’s leadership team. They have delegated operational management responsibility for pastoral and learning support for Early Level within the school. The Principal Teacher will support senior leaders in creating and maintaining a positive ethos of high ambition, equity and excellence for all.
We require our Principal Teacher to be a highly skilled practitioner who is committed to delivering the very best learning and teaching experiences for children and young people across all stages of the primary school.
Demonstrating knowledge and understanding of current and effective pedagogical approaches and of the national and local developments in the primary curriculum, our Principal Teacher will work effectively alongside practitioners at all levels to lead improvements linked to school priorities.
Our Principal Teacher will be highly committed to their own and others’ continuous professional learning and development, and possess a high level of professional integrity and drive.
Note that areas of operational and strategic responsibility may change depending on the needs of the school. In addition, Principal Teachers will support quality assurance, moderation and assessment across the school. They model the highest standards of pedagogy and will inspire, motivate and support colleagues in the development of their own classroom practice.

Remit of post: –
Leadership and operational management of ELC.
Leadership and operational management of the Enhanced Provision classes
Responsibilities for management of physical education, including lunch clubs and out of school opportunities with Active Falkirk
4 class teaching commitment
Responsibilities to lead the Nursery – P1 transition
Lead Team Around the Child meetings and coordinate support for pupils ELC – P3
If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership, the cost of which will be met by the preferred candidate.
