At Leighfield, we have a holistic approach which ensures there is a nurturing and caring ethos where children are encouraged to reach their full potential. Our school values are Resilience, Pride and Respect and we are passionate about providing our children with the very best opportunities and experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the development of an inclusive, nurturing environment in which all pupils experience belonging, safety, equitable opportunity and high ambition.
  • Working alongside staff to secure a consistent, relational and inclusive approach to behaviour across the school.
  • Developing positive, trusting relationships with children and families, particularly where pupils experience additional barriers to learning, attendance, wellbeing or participation.
  • Promoting a proactive approach through early identification, planned support and timely intervention, rather than relying on crisis response

What We’re Looking For

  • Literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to Level 2.
  • A relevant Level 3 qualification, or demonstrable equivalent knowledge and experience.

  • Experience of planning, delivering and evaluating individual or group interventions.
  • Experience of recording, monitoring and interpreting behaviour information to identify patterns and inform action.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Secure understanding of safeguarding and child protection practice, including professional boundaries and information sharing.
  • Knowledge of inclusive, relational and preventative approaches to behaviour, including regulation and de-escalation.
  • Ability to develop trusting relationships with pupils and families while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
  • Ability to communicate calmly and model language and strategies that support co-regulation, de-escalation and restoration.
