Catering Manager (In house)

Wimbledon College · London · Merton

Job description

We are seeking an exceptional, highly motivated, and experienced Catering Manager to lead and develop our successful in-house catering service. This is a rare opportunity to manage a high-volume, professional school kitchen catering for up to 1,000 daily covers across breakfast, mid-morning break, lunch, and special college events.

Leading a dedicated, established team of 10 staff (including a Deputy Catering Manager), you will be responsible for planning fresh, innovative, and compliant menus that support our healthy eating aims. You will oversee our modern Live Register cashless system, manage the department's budget, and maintain our exceptional 5-star food hygiene standards.

This is an exciting, stable role offering an enviable work-life balance with no late nights, no weekends, and school holidays off, alongside access to the excellent Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven experience managing or supervising a high-volume catering operation (preferably in education or high-volume commercial hospitality).
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate, organise, and develop a kitchen team.
  • Deep knowledge of food safety legislation (HACCP), allergen management (Natasha's Law), and School Food Standards.
  • Level 3 Award in Food Safety in Catering (or equivalent), with strong IT literacy to manage stock, budgets, and cashless systems.
  • A supportive approach toward the unique Catholic, Jesuit ethos of our school.

We reserve the right to close this advert early should a suitable candidate be appointed, so early applications are strongly encouraged.
