This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious and inspirational senior leader to join Stopsley High School at a pivotal stage in its improvement journey. Following significant progress in recent years and a highly positive inspection outcome recognising the strength of the school's leadership, inclusion, personal development and pastoral provision, we are seeking an exceptional Deputy Headteacher to drive the next phase of excellence in Teaching, Learning and Assessment.

As a key member of our ambitious Senior Leadership Team, you will play a strategic role in shaping and delivering a vision for exceptional classroom practice across the school. We are looking for a leader with a proven track record of securing school improvement, raising standards through high-quality teaching, and developing others to achieve their very best. You will combine strong pedagogical expertise with the ability to inspire, challenge and support colleagues, creating a culture where professional growth and excellence thrive.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding practitioner and an influential leader who believes passionately in the potential of every young person. They will bring strategic vision, resilience, integrity and the ability to lead change with confidence. Working closely with colleagues across the school and within the Middlesex Learning Trust, you will further strengthen our ambitious curriculum, enhance teaching and learning practices, and ensure that all students receive the highest quality educational experience.

If you are an accomplished senior leader ready to make a lasting impact, and are excited by the opportunity to work within a collaborative and forward-thinking Trust that invests heavily in leadership development and staff wellbeing, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Since joining the Middlesex Learning Trust in September 2021, Stopsley High School has undergone a significant period of transformation and improvement. The school has benefited from strong collaboration across the Trust, access to high-quality professional development, and opportunities to share and develop best practice with colleagues across partner schools.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection in June 2026 highlighted the strength of our inclusive culture, personal development programme, pastoral care, safeguarding arrangements and leadership. Pupils described the school as a place where they feel safe, supported and valued, and where ambitions are encouraged through the school's core values of Ambition, Endeavour and Success.

At Stopsley High School, we are committed to providing an exceptional learning environment for both students and staff. As part of the Middlesex Learning Trust, colleagues benefit from a wide range of professional and personal development opportunities, including:

  • Access to outstanding facilities in our purpose-built school, opened in 2016, including a staff fitness suite available free of charge.

  • A comprehensive induction programme for all new staff, alongside personalised and high-quality continuing professional development opportunities.

  • A collaborative and supportive staff team, with opportunities for peer coaching and professional learning across the Trust.

  • A strong commitment to staff wellbeing and work-life balance.

  • Access to excellent teacher training provision through the Trust's highly regarded SCITT programme, based at The Compton School.

  • Clear career progression pathways and a strong track record of internal promotion across the Trust.

  • The chance to work within a school recognised for its inclusive ethos, strong pastoral support and positive relationships between staff and students.

  • Excellent public transport and road links, providing easy access to London, the wider UK and Europe.

Joining Stopsley High School means becoming part of a welcoming, ambitious and forward-thinking community that is committed to continuous improvement and achieving the very best outcomes for all young people.
