Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Early Years Teaching Assistant at Cottingley Village Primary School.

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the class teacher, Early Years leader and SENCO to support the learning, development and wellbeing of pupils across the school. This may include working with small groups, supporting individuals with additional needs and contributing to the smooth running of the classroom.

Cottingley Village Primary School, is a welcoming and well‑established two‑form entry school with a 17‑place specialist provision for children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience and knowledge of working in an Early Years setting including Reception class
  • Have a good understanding of the Early Years curriculum and Early Years statutory guidance
  • Have a strong commitment to ensuring excellent pupil progress
  • Support pupils' learning, both in the classroom and in small group or one-to-one settings
  • Support children's personal, social and emotional development
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of high-quality learning activities
  • Be dedicated to sharing responsibilities for raising standards
  • Enjoy a collaborative style approach to working and learning
  • Hold knowledge of successful strategies for assessing and raising pupils' achievement
