ECT Science Teacher

Contract Type: Full time, fixed term to 31 August 2027
Salary: MPR1 (£32,916 per annum)
Samuel Ward Academy are looking to appoint an ECT Science teacher, to teach the subject across the key-stages (KS3 and KS4) within an established and collegiate department. This post represents an exciting prospect to join a staff body of dedicated professionals with an established support structure and palpable team ethos.
The Science department is well resourced and has an excellent extensive range of facilities including fully equipped science laboratories, preparation rooms, a dedicated science department office/ work-space and a team of technicians to support the organisation and delivery of practical work and experiments. We teach across the key stages all the way up to A Level within the Samuel Ward Sixth Form. The successful candidate will join a vibrant and engaged teaching staff body who are squarely focused on improving student outcomes and a positive culture of behaviour, teaching and learning. We offer a full induction for ECTs by experienced and successful specialists, including mentoring time, well-structured curriculum plans to ensure that your career is set up to be a success at SWA. In September, we will have a group of five ECTs who will have specific training and guidance as you start your careers together.
