Your new school
Lift Offa's Mead is a lovely primary school located in Gloucestershire and benefits from excellent local links, situated a mile outside of Chepstow and within commutable distance of both Bristol and Wales. Approximately a third of our pupils are from military families as we serve nearby Beachley Barracks. Our children are encouraged to participate fully in school life and to be responsible for contributing to an ethos where every member feels valued, respected and has a sense of purpose. The school recognises the importance of partnership and wants parents to play an active role in their child's development throughout their primary years.
We are incredibly lucky to have extensive outdoor learning spaces, a dedicated Forest School area, well-equipped classrooms and strong links with our local community. Children enjoy a range of educational visits, sporting events, music and creative opportunities that enrich their learning beyond the classroom.
Your new role
As our EYFS Teacher, you'll be part of a supportive and collaborative Reception team, working alongside experienced leaders and colleagues who will help you grow professionally while ensuring every child receives the very best start to their education. You'll design lessons that engage and challenge, assess progress thoughtfully, and give feedback that helps the children grow. You'll work closely with colleagues, support staff, and parents to meet the individual needs of each young person. What does great teaching look like to you? Here, it means planning with purpose, adapting to your students, and helping every learner move forward.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and teach lessons with clear learning outcomes that build on what students already know
- Adapt your teaching to support all learners, including those with SEND, high ability, and EAL backgrounds
- Use questioning and feedback to deepen understanding and guide students to reflect on their progress
- Help shape curriculum content and contribute to developing schemes of work and assessments
- Create a positive classroom culture with clear routines, high expectations, and consistent behaviour support
- Work together with colleagues and communicate openly with parents about progress and wellbeing
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified teacher who has patience and understanding with young children. You'll be able to quickly adjust teaching methods to meet the needs of all children. It's important you have the flexibility to be able to handle unexpected situations with professionalism and patience in interactions with a variety of children and situations, with a calm demeanour.
We will review applications and interview ASAP so please apply or make contact ASAP.
