Deyes High School, part of the growing Lydiate Learning Trust, is seeking an ambitious, talented and passionate leader to become our next Head of History. The History department is a well-established and highly successful area of the curriculum, supported by a dedicated team of four colleagues with a range of specialisms and experience. History continues to thrive at Deyes High School, attracting strong numbers of students at both GCSE and A-Level. As Head of History, you will have the opportunity to build on this success, driving excellence in teaching and learning, shaping curriculum innovation and securing outstanding outcomes for all students. We are seeking an ambitious and experienced leader who can bring vision, energy and commitment to inspire both staff and students.

About the Role

As Head of History, you will:

  • Lead and develop the History curriculum across Key Stages 3 to 5.
  • Drive high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement.
  • Line manage, support and develop colleagues within the department.
  • Use data effectively to monitor progress and improve outcomes.
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement and the wider life of the school.
  • Champion a culture of ambition, inclusion and academic excellence.
