Job description
Hours: 8.30am-1.30pm, Monday-Friday
The community of Longford CofE Primary School are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and friendly team, for five mornings a week (8.30-1.30pm). At Longford, we place children at the centre of everything we do, promoting a love of learning for all.
The position requires work across school, as decided by school improvement needs, working with small groups and singular year groups to support class teachers in ensuring that all children’s needs are met. From September, the role will primarily be within our Y4/5/6 class. There will also be times when we require teaching cover across school and there is the opportunity for additional hours on an ad hoc basis, as and when we require cover, due to this.
The hours listed also include one hour of mid-day supervision followed by 30 minutes of nurture support (after lunchtime) per day. There is also the opportunity to extend the role for an additional half day through supporting us with our Early Help offer - we invite applicants interested in this to state so within your application.
We are a small village school and pride ourselves on the strong relationships we have with all children. Our vision is to encourage a love of learning for all children, which we deliver through our diverse and inclusive curriculum. We celebrate our school values of Respect, Empathy, Kindness, Cooperation and Respect.
The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge, experience and understanding of the primary curriculum and be willing to continuously develop their practice. They will also have strong inclusive values, with a commitment to supporting all pupils.
Whilst we are seeking a HLTA, applications from teaching assistants with strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and relevant experience, are welcome to apply.
We are proud to be part of the Embark Federation (Multi-Academy Trust), also promoting their core values of Family, Integrity, Teamwork, and Success.
Interested candidates are encouraged to look around the school - please call school on 01335 330364 or email headteacher@longford.derbyshire.sch.uk to arrange a visit.
