Job description

The appointed candidate will:

  • work with groups of children, identified as needing additional pastoral care.
  • support teachers in identifying and implementing strategies that will help children to self-regulate and access learning, including reviewing behaviour related targets as required.
  • contribute to the development and delivery of programmes which assist children and young people to develop positive attitudes towards themselves and others, encourage enhanced motivation, self-esteem and educational achievement.
  • Work with individuals or small groups of children on specific aspects of need through a range of strategies and structured interventions.
  • Help identify personal, community, family and school based issues which are having an adverse effect on individual children and young people.
  • work closely alongside our Learning Mentor to engage with outside agencies and families to support children in and beyond school.
  • Teach whole classes or groups of children, as required, particularly to cover absence or release time.

  • be a positive role model
  • be a team player.
