Job description
Suitable for someone with Primary teaching experience, and required for September 2026, we are seeking to appoint a warm, resilient and committed Targeted Support Teacher to join a highly successful team.
The Targeted Support Teacher will work with students whose barriers to learning may include gaps in prior attainment, low confidence, special educational needs, poor emotional regulation, weak learning habits, attendance issues or disrupted educational experience. The postholder will provide high quality teaching, targeted intervention and pastoral support, enabling students to make progress academically and develop the skills, resilience and self-belief needed to succeed in school. The Targeted Support Teacher will work closely with the SENDCo, pastoral leaders, classroom teachers, support staff and families to ensure that students receive well-planned, inclusive and effective teaching and support.
Ranelagh is an 11-18 coeducational, Anglican Academy (converter) which is oversubscribed and has an excellent reputation for academic achievement and positive school ethos. The school has had four ‘outstanding’ Ofsted reports but we are not complacent and as such the provision for professional learning and development is something of which we are all very proud.
Please do take time to read the job description and person specification for this role, as only applications that demonstrate they meet the specified criteria will be considered.
Potential candidates may also wish to know that our admissions policy enables the school to prioritise the admission of children of staff recruited to posts in which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.
This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. All staff employed in the school must be aware that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be undertaken.
