Midday Supervisor

The Lanes Primary School · Nottingham · Nottinghamshire

Job description

1.5 hours per day (11.45am - 1.15 pm) 7.5 hours a week (term time only)

We are looking to appoint a friendly, confident, and enthusiastic person to join our dedicated group of Midday Supervisors at The Lanes Primary School.

In this role, you will help ensure the safety, wellbeing, and positive behaviour of children during the lunchtime period. Key responsibilities include:

Supporting a calm and enjoyable dining experience by helping to maintain an organised and pleasant mealtime environment.

Promoting good behaviour and ensuring children conduct themselves safely and respectfully, in line with school expectations.

Upholding high standards of cleanliness in the dining areas, in accordance with Health and Safety regulations.

The Lanes Primary School is a three-form entry school based across two sites and is part of the White Hills Park Trust. We are a really positive team with great children in a fabulous community!

One of our guiding principles, which supports our efforts every day, is excellence. Everything we do is led by our desire to show excellence...this might be in our approach to work, the way we treat others, the manners we use towards our peers and visitors or in the way we respond to new experiences. You will hear the word 'excellent' many times as you move through school.

We are committed to:

Providing excellent teaching and learning by passionate experts

Having the highest expectations of all our pupils and knowing our children well

Challenging all children to strive for academic, creative, sporting and personal accomplishment within a broad, knowledge rich, vibrant curriculum

Developing a truly inclusive school, where ALL children can flourish

Celebrating achievement in all areas

Fostering an ethos of respect and empathy

Instilling a lifelong love of learning and a strong grounding for future success

Ensuring all children feel secure and happy.

We celebrate perseverance; resilience and risk taking, ensuring children welcome challenge and are not frightened to make mistakes. We encourage children to take ownership of and responsibility for their learning, so they have the confidence and curiosity to ask questions, solve problems and respond to quality feedback. We encourage the children to be proud of the school and their achievements in all areas of the curriculum. We foster open and honest communication with parents and actively seek to engage with all members of the community in a positive and collaborative manner.

White Hills Park Trust comprises nine successful schools across Nottinghamshire, six primary, two secondary (one including a sixth form) and one special school. It’s an exciting time as the Trust is embarking on a period of steady growth with further schools joining us soon.  We are committed to supporting the wellbeing and career aspirations of our staff team.

Our partnership of schools is united by shared ethos and values, working in deep collaboration to give all our children the best possible start in life. Our mission is to provide the very best opportunities and outcomes for young people. Our staff work closely together to deliver high quality teaching and learning, share good practice, pool resources and participate in joint projects for the benefit of pupils.
