About the role

We are looking to appoint a calm, caring and enthusiastic Midday Supervisor to join our friendly and supportive lunchtime team.

The successful candidate will help to ensure that our children have a safe, happy and enjoyable lunchtime. The role involves supervising pupils in the dining hall and on the playground, encouraging positive behaviour and helping children to play and interact well with one another. Hours of work, 12noon - 1.00pm.

Duties will include:

  • supervising pupils during the lunchtime period
  • encouraging and organising positive playground games and activities
  • supporting children to develop their social skills and independence
  • promoting positive behaviour, good manners and respectful relationships
  • supporting pupils in the dining hall
  • administering basic first aid, as required
  • helping to clear and clean tables and chairs and dealing with food or drink spillages
  • working closely with other members of the midday team.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • enjoys working with children and can build positive, caring relationships with them
  • is calm, kind, patient, approachable and reliable
  • is proactive in engaging children in playground games and activities
  • promotes positive behaviour, independence and the development of social skills
  • can use their own initiative while also working effectively as part of a team
  • understands the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional conduct

Previous experience of working with children would be helpful but is not essential. More importantly, we are looking for someone with the right attitude, enthusiasm and commitment to our children.
