Office Administrator

Seer Green Church of England School · Beaconsfield · Buckinghamshire

Job description

About us

Seer Green CE School is a one-form entry Church of England academy set in beautiful grounds, and a key part of the village community. Our Christian vision — “I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way” (Psalm 139 v14) — and our values of Honesty, Kindness and Perseverance shape everything we do.

We work to:

  • deliver a broad, ambitious curriculum that prepares pupils for later life
  • support all our children to achieve their potential
  • support pupil wellbeing and spiritual, social and cultural development
  • contribute positively to our local community

With strong attendance, a supportive staff team and an active Governing Board, Seer Green is a friendly, purposeful place to work where every staff member’s contribution is valued.

About the role

We are looking for an exceptional Office Administrator to join our existing team to provide high‑quality administrative support role to the leadership team. The role is for 20 hours a week, term time only with the working pattern to be agreed.

This is a key role in ensuring our school runs smoothly and that pupils, parents and staff feel welcomed, supported and safe.

Key responsibilities include:

  • handling telephone calls, emails and daily enquiries efficiently and sensitively
  • supporting admissions, leavers and transition processes
  • taking responsibility for the transfer of statutory data to the DfE and LA
  • supporting compliance and health & safety tasks (training logs, compliance checks, incident records)
  • maintaining first aid records and supporting pupil welfare when children are unwell or upset
  • drafting and checking communications to parents (letters, newsletters, messages) on behalf of the Headteacher
  • providing general administrative support to leaders and teaching staff, preparing documents and meeting materials
  • managing reception and acting as the first point of contact for parents, pupils, visitors and contractors with a warm, professional approach as part of the team
  • monitoring daily attendance, following up on absences and maintaining accurate pupil records
  • safeguarding visitors and handling confidential information with discretion

This role offers a real opportunity to shape parental relationships and contribute to our strategic priorities and embedding our core values across school life.

About you — the ideal candidate

We’re seeking someone who is:

  • friendly, calm, professional and approachable — able to build trust with pupils, families and staff
  • organised and efficient, able to manage competing tasks in a busy school office
  • a confident communicator, comfortable handling sensitive conversations and escalating concerns appropriately
  • competent with IT — email, spreadsheets; experience with MIS systems (e.g., Bromcom) is desirable
  • committed to safeguarding, confidentiality and following procedures closely
  • willing to train in first aid if required and support compliance and health & safety processes
  • someone who shares our values of honesty, kindness and perseverance and who will contribute positively to our school community

Experience in a school office or customer‑facing role is desirable, but the right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are equally important.

What we offer

  • A welcoming, supportive staff team and the chance to work in a beautiful village school
  • Opportunities for professional development and training, including safeguarding, first aid and apprenticeships
  • A real chance to have a direct impact on children's welfare, parental engagement and the smooth running of school life
  • Commitment to staff wellbeing in decision making and a culture of mutual support

Benefits

£26,522 - £28,742 pro-rata (depending on experience)
