School Meals Supervisory Assistant (SMSA)

Manor School provides an Ofsted-judged ‘Outstanding’ specialist learning environment for pupils with a wide range of special needs. The school is split across three sites in Brent: Manor School, Chamberlayne Road in Kensal Rise, the Manor School Early Years Centre (MSEYC) is on Bridge Road in Neasden. And our third Site is at Canterbury Road, Kilburn. We are recruiting for an SMSA at the Kensal Rise site at this time but would like to share that in the future as a three site school staff may be asked to work at any of the three sites.

The successful applicant will be working in a provision supporting children with complex communication, behaviour and sensory processing needs. Previous experience of SEND is therefore preferred. We are looking for someone:

• To supervise children during the lunchtime break, this includes managing and supporting the children’s eating and play opportunities.
• To work co-operatively and in close partnership with all SMSA and class based staff colleagues.

To be vigilant and alert to all aspects of health & safety and safeguarding during this time.

We are looking for:

• Positive, energetic and nurturing SMSAs
• Applicants who have a keen interest in special needs;
• Candidates who are willing to support pupils with positively managing their behaviour
• Experience or knowledge of autism and/or a range of learning needs and disabilities is an advantage.
• Observant, conscientious and professional individuals who will prioritise the safety and well-being of all of our pupils by following all of our safeguarding processes
