SEND Teaching Assistant

Avening Primary School · Tetbury · Gloucestershire

Job description

The Athelstan Trust is a successful and growing Multi-Academy Trust consisting of six secondary schools and four primary schools in Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire. We currently employ over 750 people and educate 4,500 pupils and plan to expand further over the coming years.

We are seeking to appoint two teaching assistants (one on 30hours per week, one on 24 hours per week) to join our team at Avening Primary School. Within this role, you will work with the class teacher to deliver lessons in a mixed age class and to support students across the curriculum including those who have additional academic, social or emotional needs. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, positive and reflective practitioner, with a passion for teaching and learning - someone who enjoys working as part of a team to encourage all children to be the best they can be.

In return, we offer:

Happy children who have a passion for learning

A warm, friendly team of staff and governors, who are committed to sharing and developing good practice

A positive ethos underpinned by shared values

An engaging, supportive learning environment and idyllic surroundings

Avening Primary School is committed to the safeguarding of all our children. All appointments will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and excellent references prior to appointment. The post is not exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 therefore all convictions, including those usually considered spent, must be declared.

We are a flexible working employer, and we are willing to make any reasonable adjustments you require during your interview so please ask us.

Early applications are encouraged and we reserve the right to close the vacancy if a suitable candidate is found.
